This post is a little off color so if you are particularly sensitive I suggest you stop here. I was walking through the woods the other day and spotted a hole in the ground. When boys are young they can’t resist finding a stick and poking it in a hole and stirring it around. Little boys must be wired for that sort of thing. There isn’t anything particular being thought about before the poking of the stick in the hole, stirring it around and no gratification afterward except the gratification of curiosity being satisfied. Time progresses, hormones appear and boys start to think about poking their own stick in any available hole and stirring it around which can cause the fairer sex much consternation as various blogs will reveal. More time passes, the hormones disappear, and the interest of poking any stick, personal or otherwise in any hole approaches the satisfaction of going to work on Monday morning.

Ole Holla
My dear Ole Granny has asked me to blog some information on her business. You don’t know my Granny, but she operates a micro brewery commonly know in the 1920’s - 1930’s as a Still. Granny may be old but she sure is up to date. She was at the hair dressers the other day and was reading one of them there dating magazines. Granny is in the market so to speak seeing that Grandfather has been dead for nigh on 40 year and Granny ain’t had no action!! Anyway back to the story!! Granny was reading that the new thing is to go to one of those dating parlors and interview a potential mate in 10 minutes and then rotate to the next one. Granny tell me that if it takes 10 minutes you aren’t focused on the problem!! Granny being a progressive business woman suddenly had a brain wave!! She got to wondering what would one do if you interviewed someone, rejected him or her and then had a change of heart?? Granny realized that you have to have courage to go back and a little liquid courage is not out of line in the dating context. Granny got to thinking and she suddenly realized her booze business could be expanded through the development of a drink called "Ole Holla". Granny is also good at marketing. Since you want to appear "natural" in the dating scene she thought the marketing tag line should be a "Holla back guy" or a "Holla back gal". In fact, Granny say the more Holla you do the more action you get. Granny tell me she shore does appreciate my help as she ain’t into that sort of thing but business is business!!

What The Hell
We all exist in 3 dimensions including Time in the real world. The people that surround us live in 3 dimensions including Time. Psychologically speaking, however, the people surrounding us live in the 1st , 2nd or 3rd dimension including Time. The 1st dimensional people in our lives are acquaintances that we never really get to know. They are the largest category. We never get beyond the phase of politeness. Friends come in 2 dimensions and although it seems to be a putdown describing them in this way it is surprising what we can endlessly draw in two dimensions. Just look at any two dimensional Geometry Book!! Soulmates are harder to define. They occupy the 3rd dimension plus Time as in Timeless. For some unknown reason, people’s souls are able to connect with other people’s souls. Soul to soul contact is the ultimate reality!! If it should happen to you, you want to be with your Soul person even though another 2 dimensional friend is more fascinating, exciting etc.. When you’re young and full of hormones the greater attraction lies with the 2nd dimensional friend because our species has to survive. This is the reason that 99% of us marry our best friend because we have never met a soulmate. Unfortunately, the hormones go, life in 2 dimensions becomes dull, gravity takes over and everything sags. One day you look at each other in 2 dimensions and although you may say "What the hell." you don’t have the energy, prospects, or means to do anything about it!!

The Law Of Unforeseen Consequences
I got to thinking about Free Will and The Law Of Unforeseen Consequences. Free Will is the ultimate form of democracy. Each of us can do pretty much as we please providing we don’t interfere with someone else’s enjoyment of life. The Law Of Unforeseen Consequences or The Butterfly Effect arises because our personal decision to do something causes a change in future events or a different path to be taken. There are lots of examples: Adam’s decision to eat the apple caused mankind to be kicked out of the Garden Of Eden. Lots has been written on our choice to invade Iraq. Opinions exist on both sides as to the importance / dumbness of that decision. Sometimes we get dragged into things that have nothing to do with us. Millions of people lost their lives in WW11 because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. If Free Will didn’t exist what would we do with our time??? Some people have said that they are not interested in going to Heaven because it would be too, too boring if Free Will didn’t exist. Perhaps if we didn’t have any havoc in our life none of us would have any use for God. For instance most of us are only interested in God if we can’t get out of our personal poo under our own steam. Perhaps a little grief in our lives is good for the soul. No grief, no soul development. Interesting thought!!

A Real Weapon Of Mass Destruction
I came across something really scary. It seems an individual has built an Internet connected platform with a camera and rifle which can be used by a hunter in any part of the world to hunt animals. The implications of this development are mind boggling. It means that anyone, anywhere, can cause mass havoc, by constructing a camera connected to a gun on a miniature platform or even mounted on wheels that can be fired from anywhere in the world because Internet connections can also be wireless. I hope someone has a solution.

A New Way To Calculate The Number Of Primes
I got to thinking about Prime Numbers Again. A Prime Number is any number that can only be divided evenly by itself and 1. For instance the number 11 is a Prime Number because it can only be divided evenly by 1 or 11 without leaving any fractions. One of the problems associated with Prime Numbers is trying to figure out how many prime numbers come before any randomly chosen number. For instance, if we randomly chose the number 12, how many prime numbers come before 12??? The most popular method is taking any number (X) or 12 in this instance and dividing it by the number of times 2.718281828 or "e" as it is popularly known can be multiplied to make 12 (Ln 12). For instance Ln(12) is 2.48490665. In other words if we took 2.718281828 and multiplied it 2.48490665 times (2.718281828 X 2.718281828 X (2.718281828 X .48490665)) we would get 12.
Therefore (12/Ln(12)) or (12 / 2.48490665) = 4.829155253
This number 4.829155253 rounded to the next whole number (no fractions) is 5. Therefore there are 5 prime numbers before random number 12. The prime numbers before 12 are 1,2,3,5,7,11, or 6 in number. The formula appears to be quite accurate which it is for low numbers. The problem arises because as the numbers increase the Prime Numbers become less and less and this formula starts to really get inaccurate.
Here is a new method:
If you examine a Prime Number Table you will see that the number in the farthest right column of any prime number greater than 7 contains the digits 1,3,7,9. For example 11, 13, 17, 19.

This result may look a little ridiculous but tests have shown that the total number of primes up to any number will be within a range of +/- 7 numbers of the total number of prime numbers up to that number which is more accurate overall than the present system.

Learning How To Be Successful
In my blog "Daddy’s Advice" I mentioned that dear old dad said "If you want to be successful, study someone who is successful." After looking around I decided that the only truly successful long term person was God. God is approachable through prayer. Unfortunately, most of us only use prayer when we are in deep personal do do. If we aren’t in deep personal do do, then we use prayer to ask God to give us something that we really don’t need such as a new car or help winning the lottery. God is like everyone else, he’s not interested in giving you something for nothing unless it is going to teach you a valuable lesson like don’t do that sort of thing. God is willing to listen to you, providing you are willing to listen to him. God is something like your parents, he is not going to give you an immediate answer. God sometimes doesn’t give a verbal answer which is equivalent to your parent’s unspoken "No" so don’t get all whiny about it. God teaches us to listen. Sometimes God’s answer comes through a casual conversation with another person. Of course, people say a lot of things to you, so you have to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff. Sometimes, God starts a series of events which will take you to your goal providing you’re paying enough attention to get on board. Sometimes this series of events starts long after you have given up waiting for whatever you thought was important at the time. It is important therefore to pay attention as well as listen. Sometimes in your life, things get a little confusing, so God might just let you know he is looking after you. Sort of call you up to see how you’re doing. God tends to look after you when you do something stupid and arranges events to get you out of trouble. All this, of course, demands that you be basically trainable and constantly listening, thinking, observing and evaluating the day’s events. Does this sound vaguely familiar?????

Soulmates
Got thinking about soulmates again. In our 3 dimensional existence people come as enemies, acquaintances and friends. Enemies are people that don’t like you for some reason. Enemies are people that are hard to spot. Their reasons for not liking you don’t have to be rational. Maybe you remind them of someone they had to put up with.
Acquaintances are those people that respond to you with the personality of a brick wall. In fact, when you think about it, a brick wall has more personality. Hell, maybe that’s why you want to change your house wall to stucco. Friends are a bit harder to define. Mostly, friends are people you like, but not known well enough to spill your guts to. On the other hand, sometimes you have a friend to whom you are willing to reveal everything. A really, really, good friend can be mistaken for a soulmate if you aren’t careful. Soulmates are a different kettle of fish. Soulmates involve the soul. Souls are timeless and according to some philosophies / religions , go on forever. There can be young souls and old souls. At some time in the process of body creation a soul becomes part of our 3 dimensional being. Due to the foufou in your 3 dimensional life sometimes your soul bears no resemblance to what most people recognize in you 3 dimensionally speaking. This is why I find it somewhat amusing here in the ‘hood that some people think a 10 minute date masquerading as an interview in which you "reveal" yourself will find you a soulmate. Jeez, you can’t even find a good employee in 10 minutes!! My observation is there are several soulmates for each of us. One soulmate you will marry and other soulmates will add something vital to our life. The "rub" to misquote Shakespeare is to find them. A soulmate usually comes into your life when your brain is in neutral, your 3 dimensional persona is idling, and your soul is emoting. So the operative words are disconnect, chill , emote.!!!

Finding True Love
How do we find true love???? The problem lies in the fact that we all exist in a 3 dimensional environment and lie like hell to each other. Immediate love in a 3 dimensional environment is chiefly concerned with perpetuating us. Therefore the men look for the most gorgeous girl they can find and lie like hell. The girls, on the other hand, gild the lily, and look for the most nurturing (an oxymoron if ever there was one) male. Someone who looks like he possesses a good set of genes, has the ability to earn a living, has enough other attributes so that the girl’s friends don’t think she is nutso, etc., etc.. Unfortunately, over time gravity gets its’ grip on you and everything sags. Suddenly you wake up one morning and you don’t recognize the creature beside you. Plastic surgery doesn’t help. If you happen to have lucked out, True Love remains. True Love is soul based and occasionally, just occasionally, two compatible, loving Souls find each other. Thank God for Random Chance!!!

Morality = Faith = Mother’s Values
I thought it was interesting that most people have concluded that Bush won the election based on "morality". I don’t think that morality had anything to do with it except in the peripheral sense. I’m inclined to believe that the election was won because 9/11 generated a crisis of confidence in the American Psyche that has yet to be psychologically recognized. Let’s face it, when something physically / psychologically happens it usually scares the bejabbers out of you, and the next thing you know you are returning to something loosely summarized as Faith. Nations are no different. Bush linked morality to your mother’s down home values. Kerry didn’t and Kerry lost. Faith doesn’t automatically resolve things like the deficit, the Israeli Palestine conflict, or the North Korean nuclear problem. Most people want to take the simple route by asking / demanding through prayer that God takes ownership of the problem. I don’t think that God is going to take ownership of the problem in this instance because he gave us the brains to solve the problem. God may be open for questions should we need advice. God also gave our nation the means to accomplish the task. So quit whining and get a grip!!

God Ain’t Never Promised A Rose Garden Down Here
I got to thinking about Lions and Tigers this morning. A lot of Christians got ate by those things during Roman Entertainment Day in ancient times. One of the popular tenets / advertisements of Christianity is that if you accept Christ into your life you get the equivalent of a Rose Garden. What the Brothers and Sisters forgot to mention is that the Rose Garden is reserved for the Soul and not for our 3 dimensional existence. Oh sure, there are a few Christians that accepted God and seem to be doing quite well for themselves but the majority of us Christians have to do the grunt work down here first. Most of us are just Privates in God’s Army. It’s quite fascinating to me that God only wrote one thing down and that is the 10 Commandments. I personally have written scads of stuff, however, God and I have one thing in common. People generally ignore the 10 Commandments and people generally ignore the scads of stuff I write. It is all very depressing for the both of us. God had to send the Flood to clean up the mess. I’ve been told that I have to clean up my own mess. Sometimes I’ve even had a bit of a flood. If you believe in God then Jesus is part of the package. Jesus doesn’t appear to have written anything down including crib notes for his speeches. Maybe God dictated the speech to Jesus as Jesus made the speech. Sort of an early version of lip synching. The people, excluding the disciples, wrote their chapters 100’s of years after Jesus’ death. Their writings often reflected the social problems / culture of the period and their solutions were written invoking Jesus’ name and prestige. Sort of reminds me of politics. You’d kind of think that God doesn’t care. On the other hand, God isn’t stupid contrary to popular thought. Your 3 dimensional eyeballed existence is going to end someday and we all get to stand in front of God. I have a recurring dream that God opens my Life Book and after reading my total life’s accomplishments in ½ a page, looks me in the eye (or the soul equivalent) and says: "Geez you were a major screw up and you don’t listen either!!"

Women, God, Love, & Faith
One of the hardest things in this life is to deal with faith. You’re not going to get off this Vale of Tears with your soul in one piece without it. Faith is an abstract. You can’t see it, taste it, feel it, or even understand it. Faith is a journey. There’re no guarantees. You can’t even see what you’re getting if you choose the "faith" path. First of all you have to put your faith in something that you don’t understand and frequently it is associated with some abstract concept called "love". The 3 dimensional configuration on this earth is women. There are literally billions of them but which one is right for you??? Where is your Faith Goddess in this collection of false idols??? Heaven knows, there is a false idol for every situation that a man can dream up. Faith in God is a little different. There is only one God so that part is simple. The upside is while faith in God means his love is unconditional. The downside is that he wants you to do something for him in return. It sort of reminds me of a long dead TV program wherein the hero got someone out of his / her personal do do on the condition that he / she do something for the hero, once, sometime, no questions asked or protests made. Each episode involved the hero and someone whom he rescued in eons past that was called upon just once to help the hero rescue the latest unfortunate. God is similar. He needs someone to do something for him, sometimes, no questions asked or protests made. This means that Faith and Rose Gardens aren’t synonyms . God also works long term. God isn’t going to give you a long song and dance about the why’s and wherefore’s of your assigned task beyond setting up the events "To make it so". You can ask questions if you get confused. One of my frequent questions to God is "Are you sure you know what you are doing???"

Bush vs. Kerry (11)
I got to thinking about the election last night. On one side we have the environment, women's choices / rights, people in general, the economy, the Iraqi's, and having to send young people to fight the war. These issues are associated with Kerry. On the other side we have the terrorist problem which is primarily associated with Bush. I'm a poor student of WW11. The British (Chamberlain), Czechs, French, etc. tried appeasement, averting their eyes (Austria). Finally Germany invaded Czechoslovakia and due to alliances between the nations plus being generally fed up all hell broke loose. It then became a down and dirty war with each side being equally rude to each other. We were isolationists until the Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor and then all hell broke loose. It turned out to be a down and dirty war for us too. It took the British 12 years to get rid of the insurgents in Malaysia so we're in for a long haul. I just think that the terrorists take precedence over everything else as they are quite capable of giving us a second whack. They also don’t appear to have any intention of giving in and their spirit isn’t flagging . Like it or not, I think that we have to go with Bush if you think that the terrorists take precedence over everything else. If times were normal without the terrorists I'd vote for Kerry. Bush is a known quantity and Kerry is an unknown quantity. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet!!

Bush vs. Kerry
Well boys and girls what will we do now???? We’ve heard the debates, we’ve seen the advertisements, we’ve listened to the rhetoric. What does all the foufou come down to???? I don’t know about you but in order to have better jobs, improve the economy, end outsourcing, etc., etc.…… you have to be alive. Now I realize that Kerry has fought in Vietnam, has 3 Purple Hearts, and appears to be a nice guy. The downside is that Kerry got involved in the anti-war protest and testified before Congress. Bush, on the other hand, joined the National Guard. Other people fought in Vietnam, and did there level best but they’re not running for President. Pretty well Even Stephen to me. Kerry tells us he will wipe out the terrorists. Bush tells us he will wipe out the terrorists. Bush has on the job experience at wiping out the terrorists which must count for something. Bush has management experience which must count for something. Kerry, as far as I know, has had no management experience, but may have management potential. As far as I can see, the terrorists don’t intend to make my life pleasant in the foreseeable future. On the balance of probabilities, and the fact that when the rubber hits the road, I want to live my only rational choice is to vote for job and management experience. May my God forgive me as I hold my nose and vote for Bush!!!

How Many Prime Numbers ????
I got to thinking about prime numbers the other day. A prime number is any number that can only be divided evenly by itself and 1. For example the numbers 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43 are all examples of prime numbers because they can only be divided evenly by 1 and themselves. If you look at the first digit in column 1 of any prime number you will see it will only contain the numbers 1, 3, 7, 9. The other numbers in the columns after the first column will have 10 choices of digits from 0 to 9 (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9). Take any random number and add 1,3,7,9 to it. The new number is probably a prime. Divide it by all the preceding numbers to see if it is a prime. Therefore in a 10’s based number system the number of available digits to put in a column is 10 numbers. Since the prime numbers end in 1,3,7,9 which are 4 numbers out of the available 10 digits then the number of prime numbers is about 4/10 of the total numbers or approximately 40%. Unfortunately numbers ending in 9 are not always primes (39 for example) but the numbers 1,3,7 are always primes. Since the prime numbers ending in 1,3,7 are 3 numbers out of the available 10 digits then the number of definite prime numbers are about 3/10 of the total numbers or approximately 30%. Therefore the number of prime numbers are between 30% to 40% of all the integer numbers (1, 30, 40 etc.).

How Do You Like Them Apples???
In my blog "Daddy’s Advice" I mentioned that dear old dad said "If you want to be successful, study someone who is successful." After looking around I decided that the only truly successful person / being / whatever depending on your belief, culture etc. was God or his equivalent. The more I thought about God the more I realized he / she / whatever was the originator of the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid). God has based the universe on simple principles , that are essentially maintenance free, capable of evolving on their own, and are the bricks for more complicated structures in life, relationships, events etc.. I’m no scholar, but it occurred to me that if you looked around at the various disciplines such as Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Business, Relationships, etc. they all primarily emphasized something that could be useful to solve something elsewhere with a few minor changes to fit the situation. Here’s an example: Scientists have recently confirmed that Earth's spin warps space around the planet. If space is warped so is time. They call the effect Frame Dragging. Any object with mass warps the space-time around it, in much the same way as a heavy object deforms a stretched elastic sheet. Hell, anyone that has ever worked knows that !!! For instance: Your boss tells you to have an important package delivered to the business’s most important client by 5:00 p.m. Your boss thinks it is a big deal ( big deal = big mass). You have from now to 5:00 p.m. to get it there ( frame contains item to be dragged). The package doesn’t get there by 5:00 p.m.. Boss is as mad as hell at you. Boss thinks it is a big deal. (lots of mass). Bosses anger (mass) warps the space-time fabric of your existence ( time drag is indeterminable while boss yells at you). Your space is warped (shortened time to fix the problem if you don’t want to ruin your career / be fired). Therefore your personal life is in a space-time warp with Frame Dragging (will problem ever be resolved??). For the mathematical inclined here is some formula to keep in mind:

The Love Signal
Back on August 21st , in a blog titled "Life & / Or Success Needs Lies To Function" I mentioned that our brain works on the principle of pattern analysis or management by exception. For instance, If you walk down the street you automatically notice the person that is not conforming to standard patterns whether it be in the physical or mental realm. Another way to look at it is to say that our mind is wired for stereotypical or patterned thinking based on statistical analysis of a group of objects. The best way to demonstrate this principle is contained in the question "How do you tell when someone of the opposite sex is attracted to you"? Simple question, but hard to answer. Basically, each sex has to learn to send out the proper signal which is most likely to be received by the intended target (boy / girl) without causing other receivers (boy / girl companions) to pick up and create "noise" that causes the the intended receiver (boy / girl to respond in a manner to protect her standing with her boy / girl companions. In other words, subtlety at all costs. The best way if you see someone is to reconnoiter first and try to come up with a way to "casually" meet him / her in an innocuous way as possible without raising alarm bells. For instance, if he / she frequents a book store stand close to him / her without invading his / her space and then casually pick up a book and off handedly make a comment (fake like hell) that can allow a conversation to continue if he / she thinks you are worthwhile. Another way is to borrow your friends dog if he / she has a dog and walk the dog right past him / her. Usually you can come up with a comment on how nice his / her dog or if all else fails subtlely allow the dogs to become involved so that he / she is forced to talk to you. If completely disperate get the dogs entangled with each other and at least have some fun. If none of these ruses are possible try meeting him / her while out walking, saying hello to begin with and gradually adding words as you continue to meet him / her. The last problem is how do I know if I’m getting anywhere if his / her body language has left me clueless?? Subtlely look into his / her eyes. If the window to his / her soul is transmitting a "Your toast" message you have lost. If the window to his / her soul says "You’re interesting, but you need work" you’ve been accepted into his / her life!!

Love, Soulmates, And All That Jazz
Back in June I posted something on "Love". Somewhere in the piece I mentioned that there are three kinds of relationships being acquaintances, friends and soulmates. You can put most people in the acquaintance or friend category simply by eyeballing and talking to them. Soulmates are a different kettle of fish. Soulmates involve your soul which may be entirely different from your persona as a friend or acquaintance. I think the problem arises because when we are young everyone gets together and lies to each other in the name of "competition". If the "lie" is repeated long enough with the right amount of passion we start to believe it. We all eventually get old, mellow out, don't care, become too tired to lie, and generally let it all hang out or be "honest" with each other. Our Soul starts to break through and we become open to ourselves, others, and lastly to God. We also suddenly realize that we don’t know anything and God graduates in our mind from a "What Is There In It For Me God", to an admission that God is much bigger than we can imagine and we are indeed humble individuals that only exist because of God’s grace. We also start to realize that Jesus was God’s earthly demonstration of his love for us and if we pay attention and listen to God maybe in the great expanse of Random Chance and Consequences we can add something of value before we cash in our chips and if we are really hot find the plan that God left us to discover through interacting with Him.

One Of Life’s Nagging Questions
I got to thinking about Noah’s Ark this morning. The Christian Religion says Noah was told by God to gather all the animal pairs together and put them in an Arc because a gigantic flood was going to cover the earth. So far so good. I also have been reading a lot about the causes of homosexuality lately. It seems that contrary to popular belief homosexuality is not solely a lifestyle choice but rather the result of the wrong genes in the wrong place at the wrong time. Essentially the result of randomness which is a part of our existence. I also read somewhere that homosexuality is not confined to us as a species but also exists in the animal kingdom. I think it is about 10% of the population. Assuming God simply told Noah to gather all the animals in the Arc by a certain date and left it up to Noah to work out the details, then how did Noah select the animal pairs that had the inclination to reproduce???

Bare Bones Of Life
We all have different adventures and believe certain things but when the bare bones of life are examined this is how it works. We arrive with nothing, accumulate like hell, go over the top realizing most things are meaningless including your career and promotional opportunities, down the other side where your possessions are graded for function like bathroom handholds and finally out the door and you can't take anything with you. The final indignity is that you have to explain to God / Fickle Finger Of Fate what you accomplished and he knows when you are lying. If you don’t believe in anything after death you still get it in the ear. Is there irony here or what????
